Marcell Jacobs finished second to last in the outdoor 100m at the Charlety stadium in Paris, the fourth leg of the Wanda Diamond League. The Olympic champion finished penultimate with a time of 10”21. First was the American Noa Lyles with a time of 9”97. Second was the Kenyan Ferdinand Omanyala, with a time of 9”98, third with 10”05 Letsile Tebogo of Botswana.

Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon broke the 5,000m world record at the Diamond League meeting in Paris, a week after she obliterated the 1,500m record. In 14’05”20, Kipyegon (29 years old) improved on the time of the Ethiopian Letesenbet Gidey (14’06”62 achieved in 2020), second in tonight’s race (14’07”94).
