De Sanctis: "The world of bowls will grow with Web TV"

While awaiting positive signals from the world of politics, Marco Giunio De Sanctis, president of Federbocce in his second term, is looking ahead. A busy season awaits him, a great job but also a great development of his sport. “We are finalizing – he explains – all the negotiations that are absolutely favorable to sports clubs, graduated from top to bottom level, to produce and broadcast commercials with sponsors, even potentially competitive with the Federation, on our federal web-tv. All this to implement the Fib image and certainly attract as many enthusiasts as possible”.

But there’s more. “We are agreeing agreements with bowls manufacturers and vendors for the first time in the history of the Federation. There is no real economic return, but it is a choice strictly linked to the image of the FIB, which legalizes situations that have never been legalized over time”.

As for the races, “the championships have begun, including the women’s Serie A della Raffa. Unfortunately, there have been many controversies, some even understandable and well-founded due to the too many rapid changes that have been made. The many innovations were followed by further additions and modifications to the rules, creating a general discontent and a bit of disharmony in the technique and refereeing. There is certainly some good in what has been done, but now we need to stop and listen to the territories. We are going on the line of differentiating the regulation: one for the High Level and one for the Sport for All, giving derogation to the Regional Committees to decide the conduct of the competitions with the possible neutral/common ground and the possible duration of the competition ( 12 points on public holidays and pre-holidays, at 10 or 12 in the evening). While the High Level is played with the international system, ie at eight rounds.

It will also be very important to align the competitions reserved for category A only with the High Level system. But all this starting from 2024. We are also waiting for the definitive response from Innsbruck, for the Raffa junior European championship, because in case the Austrian city were to give up, Italy would be ready to face this further challenge”. Finally, the Fib president will soon hold a meeting with the Minister of Sport, Andrea Abodi, and the Councilor for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of Rome Capital, Alessandro Onorato. “I am confident that the problems associated with the contributions will be resolved, above all because the Torrino Technical Center project dates back to five years ago and has already received official approval from Roma Capitale during the deliberation of the Roman plants financed through the Pnrr funds. I hope for adequate funding and rapid times “. This in the wake of savings: the federal offices, now in via Vitorchiano, could move to the splendid and functional Federal Technical Center of Rome-Eur.
