It will be another year of great events for Federbocce. These are the main dates. On 13 and 14 May 2023, the final four of the Scudetto, for men and women, of Volo in Aosta. On June 24th and 25th final four Scudetto (men’s, women’s and juniors) of the Raffa in San Giovanni in Persiceto.

On 1st and 2nd July, men’s, women’s and junior petanque finals in Cortina. Raffa’s European Junior Championship from 17 to 24 July at the Federal Technical Center of Rome-Eur.

The president of the FIB, Marco Giunio De Sanctis, explains: “We must think of something like the Targa d’Oro, a competition of extraordinary social and competitive impact, therefore organizing ten events including Raffa, Volo and Petanque with an important prize money through a congruous contribution of the Italian Bocce Federation. In Alassio it was an exceptional show: 1,200 athletes took part in the same competition, 500 of which all in the same space. Something that we see today, perhaps, only at the Targa d’Oro, while we should also transfer the same format to the other specialities, providing these events with substantial prize money and significant media coverage”.

“We have incredible numbers in terms of practitioners, beyond the FIB sports membership. The many competitions that are organized are essential for sport for everyone, but at least ten major events are essential for the image and to make the FIB attractive outside its world, capable of attracting the attention of the media and institutions. The season of federal events opens from May. Let’s start with the final four championships, for men and women, of the Volo in Aosta (May 13-14), where the Federal Council will also be held; June will be marked by the scudetto finals of the Raffa men’s Serie A, the junior championship and the high-level women’s championship, scheduled in San Giovanni in Persiceto. A highly prestigious event will be the petanque championship final four, scheduled in Cortina. For the first time the small bowls come out of Piedmont and Liguria for the assignment of the Italian titles. We will go to a prestigious place and there will be an exceptional location near the square where the playing fields will be set up”.

And finally, in July (from 17 to 24), “the Federal Technical Center of Rome will host the European Junior Championships, another major event organized by the European Boccistic Confederation (CER) with the collaboration of the Fib”.
