Simone Velasco is the new Italian champion of road racing. The 27-year-old Bolognese from Astana Qazaqstan and former Gazprom outsprinted a small group of six riders at the finish line in Comano Terme, in Trentino. Behind him, Lorenzo Rota (Intermarché-Wanty), third Kristian Sbaragli (Alpecin-Deceuninck) ahead of Filippo Magli (Green Project-Bardiani) and Matteo Trentin (UAE-Team Emirates).
