Tirreno-Adriatico, Ganna hands down the opening time trial

“I knew I was fast but Fernando (Gaviria, ed) tried to anticipate. Jasper Philipsen and I immediately followed up. I wasn’t sure I won, but it’s nice to have reached 40 victories as a professional. I didn’t start the season like I would have liked to but my condition is now good”.

“It was a good race also thanks to the good weather that accompanied us compared to yesterday – explains Filippo Ganna -. On the last tear we stayed ahead and attentive. I hope to defend the Maglia Azzurra again tomorrow”.
