Cycling, Filippo Zana falls into a ravine: fear at the Tour of Slovenia

The Italian champion Filippo Zana crashed during the fourth stage of the Tour of Slovenia. While he was all alone in the attack, Zana missed a turn coming down from Kolovrat and fell into the ravine with a forward somersault. The 24-year-old from Jayco-AlUla retrieved his bike promptly and was back on the road. Victory in smoke but apparently no physical damage.

Twenty-four hours ago after the death of Gino Mader, however, at the Tour of Switzerland as many as 37 riders gave up taking part in the seventh stage: three teams in full, including Bahrain, and another 17 individually.
