Controversy over Dalic’s national team, filmed as he celebrates in Qatar to the rhythm of neo-Nazi singer Thompson’s songs that refer to the “Herced-Bosna” regime

There is controversy over the Croatian national team which, in a video circulating on social media, celebrated its victories at the World Cup (tonight the challenge against Argentina to try and reach the second final in a row) singing the songs of the neo-Nazi singer Thompson (aka Marko Perkovic), who explicitly refer to the “Herceg-Bosna” regime (recognized as a criminal project by the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague) in Bosnia during the war of the early 1990s.

In the video you can see the players from Dalic’s team, but also some members of the staff and the Croatian delegation in Qatar all celebrating standing up and waving napkins. Thompson, frontman of the band of the same name, is known in Croatia for his extreme positions and participates every year in the Victory Day celebrations (August 5, the day when the end of Serbian autonomy in Krajina is celebrated) in his hometown of him, Cavoglave. The band has always caused discussions for the celebration of the Nazi-affiliated Ustase organization in WWII, with references often recurring in songs and concerts.

One of his songs opens with the chant «Za dom spremni!» (“Ready for the Fatherland”), the Croatian version of the Nazi salute “Sieg Heil”. And in a song he even celebrates the Jasenovac concentration camp, where the Ustashas killed 83,000 people, including Serbs, Jews and Roma.
