“In a moment like the one we are experiencing, difficult both from the point of view of climatic upheavals and the need to face the enormous challenge of feeding and supporting the growing population, it is essential to adopt the new paradigms offered by a technologically advanced agriculture increasingly advanced and sustainable.The adoption of precision farming and automation technologies is both at the heart of our business strategy and at the basis of our building new horizons, with which CNH Industrial implements strategies and actions to proactively protect the environment in which it operates through an intelligent and sustainable use of technology and innovation.We have a responsibility to develop new products and technologies that will make it possible to produce more food by reducing, for example, land use and limiting the use of herbicides, improving productivity of farmers”.

What are the most relevant technological innovations in our area and how are you responding to the requests of young farmers?
“In Modena we are building the European pole for the electrification of tractors. We are very satisfied, we have no intention of changing course. On the contrary, we want to offer all the innovative technologies also on the Italian market which is of great importance to us. A few months ago we inaugurated in San Matteo, the CNH Research and Development center in Modena, the first dynamic simulator dedicated to agriculture. The simulator verifies the behavior of a tractor before it is put into production. This means having the possibility of predicting any malfunctions and intervene to solve problems that would otherwise be identifiable only once the machine has been put into the field. In this way, unusable prototypes are not produced and resources are saved in testing new machines. With advantages in overall terms of sustainability by saving a lot CO2 emission, time and gain safety for workers”.

Skills and new occupation. How are you investing in this combination?
“We are encouraging more young people to see agriculture as a professional, productive and exciting career. To do this, we invest in training programs aimed at our dealers, customers and universities, to facilitate the learning of new technologies. I Advances in technology and digitalisation are transforming agriculture: young farmers must have the right skills. 2023 is the European Year of Skills. An important opportunity to improve and make the agri-food ecosystem more attractive for future generations” .

“With the digital education of young farmers through adequate infrastructure and equipment, supporting the growth of digital skills. It is a fundamental step in guaranteeing food security and we want to play a central role in this evolution. We collaborate with Italian and European universities close to our production sites in the training of qualified profiles. Collaborations between the public and private sectors are for us an accelerator of the development and implementation of intelligent agricultural solutions”.
