ROME – The number of Civil society organizations (OSC) registered in the List held by AICS extension – L’Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development – that is, those non-profit subjects whose competence to operate in the ambit of the organized system of humanitarian aid is recognized. Starting from 2016, the list replaced that of suitable NGOs then held by the DGCS, the Directorate-General in charge of the MAECI (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) which numbered around 200 organisations. In fact, there are 203 organizations registered in the AICS list starting from the date of its constitution. It is learned from Info-Cooperationthe portal of the community of Italian aid workers.

The cancellation of 32 ineligible NGOs. Since then, theCooperation Agency proceeded to include 68 new organizations on the list after having evaluated the requirements set by the same law 125. In these seven years of management of the list, AICS has also decreed the cancellation of a further 32 organizations that were no longer considered suitable to the required requirements. The last change made dates back to last month and saw the cancellation of two eligibility (ANPAS and Associazione Mani Amiche) and two new eligibility granted to the SAFE Foundation and Progetto Uomo Rishilpi International Onlus.

An audit every three years. Every three years the AICS verifies the maintenance of the requirements for the CSOs registered in the List which are therefore called to document the continued possession of the requirements through the presentation of the appropriate form pursuant to the Guidelines by 30 September of the third following year to that of enrollment in the List, and every three years thereafter. The next deadline is therefore set for 30 September 2024. Subsequently, by 28 February, AICS carries out a sample survey of the documentation received and the publication – on the website of the registered OSC – of the financial statements accompanied by the certification of the auditor.

Registrations and cancellations. On the site of Info-Cooperation it is possible to download the complete list of subscriptions and cancellations.
