Nine Atalanta fans hit by Daspo, but the accounts don’t add up. The measures for the racist chants against Vlahovic during the match on May 7 between Atalanta and Juventus have started, signed by the Bergamo commissioner and which will prohibit those responsible from accessing the stadium for a period ranging from 1 to 5 years. Numbers that become less daunting when some variables are taken into consideration: as stated in the official communication of the federal prosecutor’s office, the inspectors indicated that “up to 80% of the approximately 9,000 occupants of the aforementioned sector (called “Curva Nord Pisani ”)”. However, that “until” cannot be used to indicate a range that goes from 9 to 7200. Even considering that further investigations are underway to identify other subjects who participated in the discriminatory chants, anyone who attended the match at the Gewiss Stadium can only be appalled in the face of certain measures. Nine Daspo arrived through the vision of the images taken from the video surveillance system and which will force two of the nine affected to sign for future Atalanta matches. But the discrepancy between the size of the chants, the numbers provided by the federal prosecutor’s office and the provision is evident. At least for now, hopefully.
