Boxing, between comics and champions: the values ​​of the ring transmitted to children

The tour of the FPI “Boxing Heroes” Campaign restarts and the first mission of the Boxing Champions – Heroes of Comics took place in the five days of the Village for the Earth organized at the Villa Borghese Galoppatoio from 21 to 25 April to celebrate Earth Day. Conceived and created together with Artmediasport and ARF! Festival, and sponsored by CONI and Sport e Salute, the campaign focuses on the cartoonisation of the Boxing Champions, drawn by the well-known cartoonist, illustrator and character designer Luca Genovese.

The first six Boxing Heroes are: Nino Benvenuti, Roberto Cammarelle, Patrizio Oliva, Irma Testa, Simona Galassi and Aziz Abbes Mouhiidine. The Champion-Ambassadors, who represent the history, values, current events and future of Italian Boxing, are shown in the Avatar/Comics version with a precise identification and with boxing powers/values: courage, determination, passion, respect , safety and competition. And in the green heart of Rome, the FPI has kicked off the new round of the campaign to make adults and children aware of the special projects carried out as part of the promotion and strengthening of grassroots sporting activities envisaged by Sport and Health on the recommendation of the Department for Sport.

With the value and motivational claim, aimed above all at young people, “Enter the FPI Universe and choose the Champion you want to become”, the Boxing Heroes multiple world champions Patrizio Oliva “Competizione”, also Olympic gold medalist, and Simona Galassi “Passione”, together with the European Belt Champions Emanuele Blandamura and Anna Lisa Brozzi, made more than 1000 children wear gloves who took part in the Gym Boxe (Amateur Boxing) of the ASD Gladiators of Rome, coordinated by Maestro Massimo Barone. A team of super coaches, also joined by the FPI General Secretary Alberto Tappa and the Director of AMS Luigi Ecuba, which has involved entire families and which will soon return to work in other exhibition rings where the noble will continue to be promoted art and its psycho-physical benefits. Starting from Romics 2022, in the current year the campaign has entered schools with the special project “Boxando s’Learn” and will again be at the center of the “Ethics and Ring” training courses scheduled for May and June.
