That Michael Jordan is a big fan of sports cars certainly not a secret. But when the American basketball legend decides to update his ultra-luxury garage, it always makes headlines. A few days ago he turned to the Hennessey Performance Engineering, US car manufacturer specializing in the customization of sports cars, which gave him the Hennessey Venom F5 (in its roadster version), i.e one of the fastest (and most expensive) convertibles on the planet.
Among the fastest cars in the world
Jordan’s new toy features a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with an impressive 1,842 hp. In this way it is able to develop a maximum speed of 482 km/h , a peak unknown even to the former basketball player, who in the past already owned a 400 km/h Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport. Therefore, his new purchase was almost not the fastest car in the world: the record belongs to the Bugatti Chiron (490 km/h).
How much does it cost
The price is considerable, but it still tickles Michael Jordan’s boundless wallet. The Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster costs $3 million. The NBA icon has shown his passion for cars since his days playing. In her garage also the Porsche 911 Turbo S 993, the Ferrari 512 TR or various versions of the Chevrolet Corvette.
