Betis-Inter 1-1; Darmian replies to Juanmi, it all happens in the finale

Inter drew 1-1 in Seville against Betis in one of the most convincing tests in view of the resumption of the championship. A match that the Nerazzurri played with mourning on their arm for the death of Sinisa Mihajlovic, also remembered with a minute’s silence.

Inzaghi fielded the same formation that had overtaken Salzburg in Malta, with the exception of Gosens from the first minute in place of Dimarco. Skriniar, Acerbi and Bastoni played in front of Handanovic, with Bellanova and Gosens outside and the trio made up of Barella, Calhanoglu (again used as playmaker) and Gagliardini in the center. Mkhitaryan has acted as a link between midfield and attack, often going to support the only striker, Dzeko. In the first half, good pace from both teams but zero scoring chances, apart from a late shot from Calhanoglu. 10 minutes into the second half, the first real opportunity landed on Mkhitaryan’s feet, forcing goalkeeper Claudio Bravo to make a great save.

After the first changes by Inzaghi (in Dimarco, Darmian and Asllani, out Gosens, Bellanova and Gagliardini) it was Handanovic who was engaged by Miranda with an insidious free kick. Prelude to the Andalusian goal which arrived in the 83rd minute: bad ball lost by Inter in the frontline well exploited by Joaquin, whose cross Juanmi arrived on time to give the home team the advantage. Not even time to celebrate, however, and Inter immediately found an equalizer: Dimarco started the action by serving Mkhitaryan, the Armenian saw the insertion of Darmian who made it 1-1.

A match that confirmed the already good condition of Inzaghi’s team, despite the workload of these days in Appiano. The mechanisms work, there is still something to improve especially in the defensive phase (even today the ball lost on the Betis goal was serious) but Inzaghi can be satisfied.
