The last day of the Serie A basketball regular season defined the placements of the top 8 who will participate in the Scudetto playoffs which will begin on Saturday 13 May. With the victory (79-67) over Sassari, Milan finished in first place thanks to the difference between baskets in the direct confrontation with Virtus Bologna which remained second. In third place Tortona, fourth Venice, victorious (107-73) in the derby with Treviso; fifth Sassari; sixth Trent. The last two places go to Brindisi, which finishes seventh thanks to the home win (92-70) over Trieste and Pesaro which, thanks to the victory (82-78) over Tortona, hooks and mocks Brescia thanks to the favorable direct matches (2- 0).

Trieste collapses in Brindisi and recedes due to the worst points quotient

Germani recriminates for the knockout (92-88) in Scafati which allows the Campania players to reach safety. Trieste is retreating which, beaten (92-70) in Brindisi, joins Verona, already condemned a day early. The Giulian team ends on a pair with Reggio Emilia at 22 but pays the worst overall points quotient in the championship (in direct matches the two teams had one victory each and the same points scored and conceded).
