Barletta, the athletics track dedicated to Mennea-Corriere.it is born

Saturday 24 June will be inaugurated a Barletta the athletics track dedicated to Peter Mennea, all ten years after his death. The pavement, 6 lanes of 60 metres, comes from the recycling of sports equipment and work shoes at the end of their life and is located in the external area of ​​the Giovanni Modugno elementary school. A multi-handed initiative, the result of the meeting of various entrepreneurial and associative realities, Base Protection, the Gogreen Association, the Municipality of Barletta, with the mayor Cosimo Cannito, the Pietro Mennea onlus Foundation, IPArchimede of Barletta and ESO Recycling. Realities united by the desire to remember and celebrate in the city where Pietro Mennea was born, to let his deeds continue to live in the hearts of the young athletes who will run on that surface, born from a recycling and circular economy process.
