Atp Montecarlo: Berrettini retires due to another injury

Matteo Berrettini’s unfortunate period did not end as he withdrew from the Monte Carlo tournament, the third Master 1000 of the season, due to a second degree injury to the oblique abdominals. The Roman tennis player announced it on Instagram. “I don’t know where to start… I was finally finding my level and getting back to where I wanted to be… this is difficult”, is the post by Berrettini, who has already suffered several injuries in the last year. In the afternoon he should have faced the Danish Rune in the round of 16.

Nonetheless, good news arrives from the principality for Italy thanks to Jannik Sinner who came from behind against the Pole Hubert Hurkacz with a score of 3-6 7-6 6-1, in two hours and 28 minutes. In the quarterfinals he will find the winner between Nole Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti.
