Athletics, European team championships: Italy champions for the first time in the history of the competition

For the first time in history Italy conquers the European-European team Cup in Poland. In Chorzow, the Italian expedition celebrates a historic success, never achieved in this competition in the previous 38 editions since 1965, not even in the old European Cup. Our national team ends with 426.50 points ahead of the hosts Poland, at an altitude of 402.50. Germany is third with 387.50 points. Italy also leads the athletics medal table for the European Games with 14 medals to its credit: 6 golds, 5 silvers and 3 bronzes.
