Athletics, European Cross Championships: Italy wins the mixed relay in Turin

First, historic, blue gold in the medley relay Cross-country European Championships ongoing at Turin at La Mandria Park in Venaria Reale. With four magical fractions, Pietro Arese, Federica Del Buono, Yassin Bouih and Gaia Sabbatini give Italy the European title in the 4×1.5 km. Merit of four excellent fractions and a sensational finish of Sabbatini, capable of overtaking the last Spanish team player in the sprint and completing the masterpiece of the national team which is competitive with the quartet for the first time. Azzurri at the finish line in 17’23”, beating Spain by a second (17’24”), bronze to France (17’31”). In the previous four editions of the EuroCross in which the relay race was held, the best placement was it was Samorin’s sixth place in 2017.

Battocletti still golden

Gold, fourth in a row, for Nadia Battocletti. The athlete from Cles, queen of the last three editions, prevailed in the U23 race, over the 6 km distance with a time of 19’55” ahead of the British Keith and Millard.
