Leo Messi and companions landed in Buenos Aires in the Argentinian night. The world champions were greeted by a flood of people poured into the streets around the capital’s airport. Tens of thousands of people who celebrated their return home with the cup, after the victory over France in the Qatar 2022 final. It was only the first taste of the celebrations, because the open-top bus only made a partial tour of the capital. But for 12 in Argentina (late afternoon in Italy) the tour is expected to leave again on the streets of the centre.
