Absolutely misogynist, absolutely sexist – as he himself defined himself -, but not only that: also violent, denial, dangerous and aggressive: Andrew Tate, former kick boxing champion, was arrested in Romania for trafficking in human beings, exploitation of prostitution and constitution of an organized criminal group (he allegedly exploited six women to produce pornographic content, together with his brother). But who is Andrew Tate really? What has he won in kick boxing and why is he today a social star with more than three and a half million followers on Twitter?

Born in Chicago to an American father (a former chess champion) and a British mother, Tate grew up in Luton, England, after his parents separated. three times world champion Iska (International sport karate association) and one-time Enfusion Live champion: he triumphed in the light heavyweight category in 2009, in the light heavyweight category in 2011 and again in the light heavyweight category two years later. Part of his current fame is due to his sporting successes, but compared to all of his followers, the percentage of those who know him for victories in kick boxing is reduced to almost zero. Tate’s social boom in fact due to his ideas, his positions, his way of expressing strong and violent ideals that slowly began to depopulate among different reactionary nichesto surpass 3.65 million followers on Twitter and even 11 billion views on TikTok.

Taking advantage of what had now become a real audience, Tate has started selling a series of lectures he taught, from his Hustler’s University, a private online academy where guru Tate taught thousands of disciples how to achieve success in life who even managed to manipulate the TikTok algorithm by publishing the ex kick-boxer’s name and photo and labeling him as the king of toxic masculinity. Speaking of toxic masculinity, Tate’s position towards women is clear, in this case in the event that he is accused of treason: I take out my machete, slam it in his face and grab his neck.

All these violent and dangerous positions, however, led to the ban of his account first on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, last August, then also on TikTok and YouTube. Tate thus decided to publish his Andrew’s Tate final message, accusing the platforms of being unfair and unfair and announcing his landing on Rumble and Gettr, the only two platforms from which he had not yet been banned. On April 11, Tate was charged with kidnapping and human trafficking (the rumors that defined him as a rapist and criminal had been chasing each other for some time). Just over two weeks later, however, the allegations were considered unfounded and the decision was made to dismiss them. Until today: this time it was a controversy set up with Greta Thunberg to frame him
. In fact, the young activist replied to one of her messages (I have 33 cars. Please send me your email address so I can send you the complete list of my collection and the respective huge emissions), leading the former kick boxer to reply via another video in which a pizza box can be seen on the table which, it seems, helped the Bucharest police to recognize his position.
