Among the winners of the Premiolino 2023 also the deputy director of the Foglio Salvatore Merlo

The deputy editor of the Sheet Salvatore Merlo is among the winners of the 63rd edition of Premiolino, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of Italian information. The other winners of this edition are Michelangelo Coltelli (Butac), Maurizio Maggiani (La Stampa), Mariangela Pira (Sky), Andrea Sceresini (freelance investigative journalist) and Gaia Tortora (La7).

The awards ceremony is scheduled for Monday 2 October at the Piccolo Teatro Grassi in Milan. The jury is composed of Chiara Beria di Argentine (president), Piero Colaprico (vice president), Giulio Anselmi, Ferruccio de Bortoli, Milena Gabanelli, Enrico Mentana, Donata Righetti, Valeria Sacchi, Beppe Severgnini, Gian Antonio Stella and Carlo Verdelli.

The Premiolino was born in 1960 with the support of the industrialists Piero and Giansandro Bassetti and on the initiative of a group of Milanese envoys, including Orio Vergani, Paolo Monelli, Luigi Barzini, Indro Montanelli, Enrico Emanuelli and Enzo Biagi, who was the first president. Considered one of the most prestigious awards in journalism and supported by Pirelli in this edition, its Roll of Honor includes illustrious signatures such as those of Giorgio Bocca, Camilla Cederna, Oriana Fallaci, Alberto Moravia, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Alberto Ronchey, Eugenio Scalfari, Franca Sozzani, Piero Angela and Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini.

In a nutshell, this is the identity of the Journalism award that has reached its 63rd edition this year”, commented the awards Chiara Beria di Argentine, president of the Jury, who added: “A strong identity which, thanks to the voluntary work of the Jury made up only of journalists, we reaffirm with the pride of those who have the honor of continuing on the line drawn in Milan, the publishing capital, by the founders of the prize in 1960”.
