The Meloni government’s bill that bans the so-called “synthetic meat” is not only the product of the right-wing’s hostility to competition and innovation. It’s something worse. Unfortunately it is the manifestation of a reactionary culture which is much more widespread and transversal, almost unanimous, in the agri-food sector. The ban, in fact, is not flour in the minister’s sack Lollobrigidaon which rained a lot of applause and some criticism.
