Tourists are those who eat fish. Those who eat fish from the Tyrrhenian on the Adriatic. Those who eat fish from the Adriatic on Lake Garda. Those are the tourists. I recognize them immediately, I catch them, at the restaurant I don’t need to look at how they dress, to know where they come from, I just need to intercept the order. Fish eating is the tourist’s trademark, which is a poor Pavlovian: fish equals sea equals vacation. I must therefore clarify: tourists are those who eat saltwater fish. Wherever they are.
