«In my idea of ​​sports justice, two concepts must prevail: do well and do quickly. Compared to ordinary justice, on the one hand we have a limited number of stakeholders and on the other the obligation to guarantee fair competition. We need clear and enforceable rules. If the offense (even hypothetical) was committed in another sporting season, “doing well” takes priority over the times because the protection of third parties has ceased to exist. If the offense relates to the current season, we must act quickly but also well». Sports Minister Andrea Abodivisiting the Azzurri who compete at the European Games in Krakow (“A love escape, a day of serenity that represents the essence of delegation to sport”), expresses himself on some central issues at a political level.

Sports justice

«In all our proposals – explains Abodi – it remains clear in the background that sports justice does not have adequate investigative tools and that in the decisive collaboration with the criminal prosecutors asymmetries are manifested which must be resolved. Then we have to find a figure that is missing in the sports system, that of the natural judge and a method which allows the measures to be concentrated in a defined period. We can no longer accept that the inefficiency of the system transforms the sports trials in football matches in which one or the other is rooted for. Let’s try to treasure what happened this year and be quick and credible if we want people to continue to believe that sport is what you see on the pitch».

Sports & Health

On Sport & Salute, Abodi recalls that the statute will be changed in the Board of Directors meeting on 12 July and new directors will be appointed, also clarifying the limits of the company’s action quite clearly. “In the hours following the council – explains the minister – we will share the guidelines with the new leaders, we will understand what Sport and health will do and how will relate to Coni and Cip taking into account government policies and remembering that Sport and Health is an in-house government tool, a resource management tool that the government makes available but that the guidelines will be handled by the sports department of the council presidency. The three terms

Speaking of a debate on the number of terms of federal presidents that does not excite him, Abodi says that «I would like there to be no need for a law that limits them. If we take into account three elements (proxies, elective criteria and quorum) we can find the solution. The more the system determines itself, the more autonomy will take on a value. However, we will solve the problem shortly so that the presidents can concentrate on federal activity”.

Piracy

Finally the problem of piracy. «The provision passed unanimously in the Chamber and now the situation has also unblocked itself in the Senate, I hope it will pass in the next few days.
