In its first season without capacity restrictions in indoor stadiums after two years marked by the pandemic, Serie A UnipolSai closed with an average of 3,764 spectators and €50,363 in proceeds. The overall attendance figure is the result of a first round that reached an average of 3,570 spectators and a clearly growing second round that came close to 4,000 admissions, settling at an altitude of 3,959. “The data from this regular season is encouraging – says the president of the Lega Basket Umberto Gandini – and rewards the Serie A clubs which, after having sustained enormous efforts to guarantee the championship during the pandemic emergency, have worked well in these months to bring the public back to the arenas to enjoy a live show which, also this season, has given uncertainty and balance until the last day”.

EA7 Emporio Armani Milano leads the ranking for attendance with an average of 7,818 spectators, followed by Virtus Segafredo Bologna with 5,629. There are three clubs with over 4,000 spectators: Carpegna Prosciutto Pesaro with 4,810 spectators, Openjobmetis Varese with 4,456 and Tezenis Verona with 4,000. The filling percentage of Umana Reyer Venezia reaches 90% and is the highest in Serie A, with Varese finishing second with 87%. The filling percentage of the Carpegna Prosciutto Pesaro races at the Vitrifrigo Arena in Pesaro, which reaches 74%, includes the capacity with which 13 internal races were held (5,874) and the 2 races with Virtus Segafredo Bologna and Bertram Yachts Derthona Tortona: on these two occasions the capacity was increased to 10,323. In the Top Five of the matches with the greatest turnout, Milan stands out, reaching 12,320 spectators on the 22nd day played on March 19 against Bologna.
