Madiot’s doubts: ‘No one would ever put a camera in a football dressing room during half-time’

The majority of teams would have accepted ASO’s proposal. Some however, like the Groupama-FDJthey would have refused instead. The team manager Marc Madiot he explained his doubts thus: “Can you imagine a camera filming a football coach during the interval while he gives his instructions to his players?”. Jean-René Bernaudeau, manager of TotalEnergies, enthusiastically responded: “We have nothing to hide, so that’s fine with us.” In the same team, sporting director Benoît Génauzeau, added: “It’s part of the evolution of our sport, and just so as not to slow down this type of evolution. I don’t think any secret will spread, there will still be a filter”. ASO had already experimented with the idea during the women’s Tour de France last summer.

Dauphiné, Vingegaard dominates
