The restaurant of the Chamber increases the price: 2 euros more for the farmer's zero kilometer menu

For the first time the farmer's purchases at zero kilometers also for the catering services of the Chamber. With the lunch menu for Members it increases by two euros, from 13 to 15 euros. So the Quaestors of Montecitorio decided. One of the reasons is the launch, in an experimental form, of a new management thanks to the support of the 'Campagna amica' Foundation of Coldiretti - an association dear to the Minister of Agriculture Lollobrigida and to the prime minister - who supported the agreements with the economic operators of the territory which allow full valorisation of local productions and small and medium enterprises.

The service is taken away from the Cirfood coop which manages the contract. Now in Montecitorio we sit at the table in the name of sustainability, seasonality and local productions - he says the main association representing and assisting Italian agriculture - to bring institutions closer to citizens who have shown interest in purchasing food products directly from farmers. According to the Coldiretti/Divulga analysis, almost six out of ten Italians (59%) went shopping at the farmer's in oil mills, huts, cellars, companies, agritourisms or farmers' markets in Campagna Amica to buy local products at zero kilometers from producers.

The Chamber will mainly purchase the products necessary to carry out the service, favoring zero-kilometer products - almost all from Lazio - following the seasonal calendar.
