The Partisans’ Association has issued a critical statement towards the former premier, but it is a surreptitious and transversal expedient to challenge the head of state: the only one who correctly interprets the values of the Resistance
The secretariat of the National Association of Partisans of Italy (Anpi), issued a statement in which, after condemning “the very recent decision of the European Parliament to allocate funds from the Pnrr and the European Social Fund to the construction and purchase of ammunition” , says he reads Mario Draghi’s recent statements regarding the ongoing war with bewilderment. To state that ‘there is no alternative for the United States, Europe and their allies to ensure that Ukraine wins this war’ is to frustrate any attempt at a diplomatic solution”. One would think that the partisans, who took up arms to fight the German occupation supported by the fascist militias, would perhaps struggle to recognize themselves in this one-way “pacifist” statement. On the other hand, to argue that a victory for the attacked Ukraine would nullify the “diplomatic solution” is equivalent to saying that this must be based on a defeat of the attacked and the maintenance of the Russian occupation of its territories.
