The area of ​​the moderates is in eternal turmoil and while today and tomorrow in Rome the leaders of the EPP (Forza Italia in the lead) will participate in a two-day study – a choice that is intended to be preparatory to the construction of that centre-right European majority which is dear to Giorgia Meloni – in Milan (alle Stelline), the popular reformist area will meet on Saturday. There will be Mariastella Gelmini (aligned with Carlo Calenda), Alessandro Alfieri (responsible for the reforms of the Schlein secretariat, but very close to Stefano Bonaccini and always an attentive interlocutor of the moderate area), Sister Anna Monia Alfieri, very attentive to the world of schools, Emma Fattorini, Carmine Pacente. The objective is to revitalize the (transversal) popular area and seek a common denominator to avoid the collapse of the “Ursula majority” that has governed the European Parliament in recent years. A screwdriver stuck in the gears of Melon’s project to move the axis of European politics further to the right, but a strong signal also to the popular area well present in the centre-right. Gelmini and Alfieri do not lose sight of the Italian situation, where – while armed peace prevails in the Third Pole – in the Democratic Party the Catholics, the popular and the former Renzians who do not digest the Schlein secretariat after the administrative blows look at the Europeans with concern.
