The cyclist Antonio Tiberi kills a minister's cat in San Marino

Antonio Tiberi, who will be 22 next June, is a promise of Italian cycling. Especially good against the clock, he also has a world gold medal when he was a junior. But now Tiberi, a Trek Segafredo professional, has become the protagonist of a bad story that has little to do with the bicycle. In fact, he killed a cat in San Marino where, he who was born in Frosinone, took up residence for tax reasons.

The facts date back to some time ago, but only now has a fine of 4000 euros arrived for the incident: it is much less than what he would have risked if he had committed the act in Italy, where the laws on the matter also provide for imprisonment. Tiberi was testing a carbine from his home when, by his own admission, he targeted a cat ("But I didn't think the gun could kill") hitting it on the head and leaving no escape. By chance, the poor animal was owned by the Minister of Tourism of San Marino, Federico Pedini Amati, who accuses "we don't need to give residence to these people".
