the challenge to Kerley-Corriere.it has been postponed
The Tokyo Olympian forced to forfeit for «a slight lumbar-sacral block
The news wasn't really in the air: Marcell Jacobs will miss the highly anticipated 100m season debut at the Diamond League test in Rabat, in Morocco, scheduled for Sunday 28 May. «I am forced to miss the debut on the 100 meters – wrote the Tokyo Olympian – and the first confrontation of this year with Kerley in Rabat, who I cared about very much, due to a slight lumbar-sacral block that I intend to resolve as soon as possible. It's not an injury, it's just the result of a false support, which however prevents me from competing in Morocco. Technically I feel fit and ready to have a great season outdoors. The challenge is only postponed ».
At this point, doubts arise about the policeman's participation in the Golden Gala on June 2 in Florence, in which the Brescian would have had to challenge Kerley again but also Bromell, Omanyala, Simbine, Blake (all well under 10”) but also Samuele Ceccarelli who beat him on 60 meters at the European indoor championships in Istanbul. The clash with Kerley (who on social media, like many of his American colleagues, had not failed to underline Jacobs' "absences") can wait.
