It is the time taken by the new Pd secretary Elly Schlein to arrive at the nomination by acclamation of the new group leaders of the Chamber and Senate Chiara Braga and Francesco Boccia, names of strict Schleinian observance, officially in the saddle yesterday, after the time spent in a tangle of negotiations (negotiations still in progress, as the connected matches of the presidency offices and secretariat now remain on the table). Calendar in hand, there are those in the Democratic Party, looking back on the thirty-two days that have just passed, see the ghost of the quintessential staller among the former secretaries appearing at the door of the Nazarene, that Nicola Zingaretti who, to set up the secretariat, it even took three months. But there is also another ghost, this time evoked in a positive way by the critics of the Schlein method (the one based, on the group leaders, on the “who wins decides”, as explained by the deputy dem Marianna Madia in an interview with Repubblica): the ghost of the former secretary Enrico Letta, who “behaved in a different way”, as noted by the former minister now senator Graziano Del Rio during the closed-door meeting that will lead to the election of Boccia. And even if, in the morning, in the Senate, the secretary Schlein immediately thanks the outgoing group leader Simona Malpezzi (as she will later thank the other outgoing group leader Debora Serracchiani in the Chamber), it will be Malpezzi himself who will say that the methods have not satisfied her, and that he would have preferred less talk in the newspapers and more in the party before the decision was made.
