The news had immediately shocked all fans, not just boxing. Daniele Scardina, 30 years old and known as “King Turetto”, was training in Buccinasco, in the province of Milan, in view of a match scheduled for 24 March. After the illness he was immediately transported to the Humanitas clinic in Rozzano (his home town) where he underwent emergency surgery to stop the bleeding. Seven days after the episode, his brother Giovanni, through Daniele’s Instagram profile, decided to break the silence: ”The Scardina family thanks the doctors, who have never lacked incredible support and attention and also thanks everyone those who have warmly gathered around our Dani with a message and a thought”. Then an appeal to the many fans: ”Those who know and love Daniele know how much faith and community are very important values ​​for him. Every day we want to join in prayer. Wherever you are, we ask that you join us in spirit. We are sure that God is with him. Never lose faith”.

In recent days, his manager had launched messages of hope by revealing how the boxer had moved his tongue and arm in response to the impulses of the doctors. Scardina received many messages of support from well-known faces in sport and entertainment, from ex-girlfriend Diletta Leotta (“Forza Dani”, the presenter of Dazn had immediately written) to Francesco Facchinetti and Sfera Ebbasta. The conditions, from what he leaks from the hospital, remain serious but stable and the prognosis reserved.
