Frank Chamizo, Italian-Cuban wrestler, tested positive in an anti-doping test. Given the minimum concentration, he has negotiated and has already served a three-month ban

Frank Chamizo Marquez
loses the bronze medal conquered last September in Belgrade, Serbia, in the World Wrestling Championships in the 74 kg category. The Italian-Cuban champion, who on that occasion had reached the world podium for the fourth time in his career after the titles in Las Vegas 2015 and Paris 2017 and the silver medal in Nur-Sultan 2019, positive result in an anti-doping test performed by the ITA (International Testing Agency) out of competition and away from the event.

According to what is learned in federal circles, being also the minimum concentration, Chamizo thus negotiated a three-month ban (already discounted) and the renunciation of bronze which will therefore go to the Turkish Soner Demirtas, beaten in the final for third place. In his discipline, Chamizo has questioned the United States-Russia duopoly of the last 25 years with victories.
