Regionals Molise, turnout down: at 12 9.72% voted against 15.37 five years ago

Almost six percentage points down. The turnout in the regional elections in Molise has dropped sharply: according to data from the Viminale, at 12 today 9.72 percent of eligible voters voted, against 15.37 percent five years ago. In 2018, however, the polling stations remained open in just one day, while in this round it will be possible to go to the polls tomorrow too, Monday 27 June.

Municipalities

As far as individual Municipalities are concerned, Pescolanciano (in the province of Isernia) leads the ranking of participation, where the turnout at noon was 15.37 percent. On the other hand, the number recorded in San Biase (in the province of Campobasso) is low, where only 3.38 percent of those entitled have decided to express their preference for these Regionals.

The numbers of the big cities are not far from the average: in Campobasso the turnout stopped at 11.81% (as in Termoli), while in Isernia it dropped to 11.23%.

The candidates

Of the three candidates for the office of president of the Region, the first to vote, around 11, was Francesco Roberti who leads the centre-right coalition. Roberti voted in Termoli at the Principe di Piemonte School. An hour later the centre-left candidate voted in Campobasso instead Roberto Gravinawhile the third candidate for the office of president of the Region, Emile Izzo (supported by the list 'I don't vote for the usual suspects') will instead vote in the afternoon in Isernia, his city.
