Powerboating, Cappellini wins the 70th edition of the Pavia-Venice International Powerboat Raid

Guido Cappellini imposes himself in the 70th edition of the Pavia-Venice International Powerboat Raid. The 10-time F1 Powerboating World Champion and current Abu Dhabi team manager imposed himself with a total time of 56 minutes and 37 seconds, maintaining an average of 191.51 km/h. Second classified Giovanni Micheli with co-driver Ennio Panzeri of the Gabbiane Nautical Club, who finished the course in 1 hour 22 minutes and 41 seconds. Alberto Huober of the Pavia Motonautica Association completed the podium in 1 hour 24 minutes and 23 seconds. The podium award ceremony was held inside the Venice Arsenale on the closing day of the Boat Show.

Great satisfaction, for the success of the 70th edition of the Raid, by the organizers Angelo Poma (Associazione Motonautica Pavia) and Giampaolo Montavoci (President of the Motonautica Venezia) for the event which took place under the aegis of the FIM (Federation Italian Motorboating). For Montavoci «This year’s Raid was a fantastic event, given the great participation of riders from all over the world. It was, as always, a competition full of unknowns – continued Montavoci – but at the same time extremely amusing. The climatic situations created quite a few problems for us in the organizational phase, but we made it». «Despite the forced stop of the past years – said Poma – the international appeal of the raid has not weakened, with the participation of about 100 team boats from all over the world. An enormous satisfaction that leads us to look to the future, with the organization of the 71st edition of the Raid».
