A table for innovation and to stimulate the creation of new businesses. Three main protagonists: Sicindustria Palermo, the Municipality of Palermo and the University of the Sicilian capital. An initiative that follows in the footsteps of Gregory Bongiorno, the president of Sicindustria who died prematurely on 22 January. It is precisely to Gregory Bongiorno that, this year, the Start Cup 2023 is dedicated to the academic world and research centers interested in technology transfer, from laboratories to the market, to free riders and professionals capable of developing innovative technological solutions and who want try your hand at the role of startupper.

How to participate in Start Cup Palermo

To participate in Start Cup Palermo, which has the support of UniCredit and other sponsors, it is necessary to develop a business idea «characterized by an innovative content preferably based on scientific research, in any field and regardless of its stage of development - explains Marcantonio Ruisi, Full Professor of Corporate Strategies and Policies at the University of Palermo –. The first two classified will receive cash prizes, the third in services and will have the right to participate in the Start Cup Sicilia, the federated competition of Sicilian Start Cups». The Sicily Start Cup will therefore assign at least one group of the Palermo Start Cup the right to participate in the final of the PNI - National Innovation Award, ie the national competition of all the Italian Start Cups.
