What is Differentiated Autonomy?
Article 116, third paragraph, of the Constitution provides, for the Regions that request it, the attribution of particular forms and conditions of Autonomy: with state law, approved by an absolute majority of the members of the Chambers, on the basis of an agreement between Central State and Region.

Why does Autonomy ignite the political dispute?
Because the attribution of greater autonomy can break the balance and benefit some territories to the detriment of others, aggravating the gaps: not only between North and South, but between central and peripheral areas of the country.
