Meloni to businesses: "The State must be an ally and not an enemy, it cuts taxes and fights tax evasion". And on the government: "We do not lack courage"

A government that has "an ambitious programme" and with the awareness that "there will be no shortage of obstacles to carrying it forward". "But we are not afraid. We do not lack courage, we do not lack vision, we do not lack respect for the citizens who have given us the task of governing this nation". So Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in the conclusions of the video message for the 75th anniversary of Confapi.
The premier speaks to the business world. It does it at 360 degrees, with the awareness that the road is and will be complicated but it does so by recalling precisely "that same courage that you have - the Prime Minister goes on, in fact - and that every day you put into what you do when you decide to invest in a new project or to bet on a new business. And that she also pushes you not to be satisfied, to always try to do better, to get up after every fall. That's what we intend to do too: work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to revolutionize this nation. Because the citizens have not chosen us to maintain the status quo, they have chosen us because they hope that we will be able to unleash the best energies of this nation, they hope that we will have the strength to make the reforms that no one else has had the courage to do, they hope that we have the strength and determination to go all the way. It's a difficult journey, but it's a journey that doesn't scare us », she emphasizes.
The state as an ally
Then the prime minister spoke of the importance of the role of the state and of the relationship between the institutions and the business world. «We believe that the State should be an ally of companies, not an adversary as it often has been, we believe that it should solve problems and not create them, we believe that it should create the conditions so that those who want to do business can do so without finding an obstacle in the institutions and reward those who roll up their sleeves the most». And again: «A state that is a friend of those who do business - observed Meloni - is a state that reduces the tax burden, which fights tax evasion, which cuts obligations and bureaucracy, it is a state that writes clear rules. This is the vision that inspired and inspires our work. From measures against high bills to the reform of business incentives, from the fight against unfair competition against "open and close" companies to the birth of the Ombudsman for companies, from the new Procurement Code to the tax delegation that we approved only a few days ago in Council of Ministers ”, he summarized.
SMEs as the engine of the country
Then applause to companies and small and medium enterprises, the real engine of the country. «The small business is the widespread engine of our economy, of society, of our culture. The world that you represent constitutes the identity, tradition and innovation of the Italian productive fabric. You are what I like to call the patriots of work because with your dreams, with your ingenuity, your creativity you contribute to making Italy the great nation it is. You and your collaborators are a fundamental part of the real economy, you represent the concrete declination of the bond that unites business, work and the territory». The Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni says it in a video message on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Confapi. «It is a bond that has entrepreneurship at its core, its ability to take risks and innovate, to have its own legitimate profit and to guarantee widespread social well-being. But also the worker, who in SMEs is often not just a simple employee but a real collaborator who participates in the destiny of the company », she concludes.
