The premier and the president of the European commission speak to journalists from Bologna airport, after flying over the areas affected by the floods of recent days

The president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen he wanted to personally understand the seriousness of the situation in Emilia-Romagna. So in the morning, together with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, you flew over the areas affected by the floods in recent weeks. Both were welcomed at Bologna airport by the president of the Emilia Romagna region, Stefano Bonaccini, by the prefect of Bologna Attilio Visconti, and by the head of the Civil Protection Department, Fabrizio Curcio.

Von der Leyen and Meloni then boarded the Air Force helicopter together to fly over the areas affected by the flood and landslides (Bologna, Conselice, Lavezzola, Ravenna, Forlì, Faenza, Modigliana, Casola Valsenio, Castel Bolognese, Bagnacavallo, Lugo). Together with the two presidents, also the Minister for European Affairs, Raffaele Fitto, and Curcio.

They will soon hold a press point right from the Bologna airport. Subsequently, the President of the Commission is expected in Cesena.
