Jeff Molina, the wrestler forced to come out: his private video released

Forced to do coming out after the release of a private video that sees him engaged in a sexual act with another man. I’ve always been a masculine type with a camaraderie sense of humor, and the thought that friends and teammates might look at me and treat me differently was something I just couldn’t fathom.”

Molina had already been mocked on social media because last October he chose to fight against Zhalgas Zhumagulov, customizing his fight kit to help raise funds for the Southern Nevada LGBTQ Center, a non-profit organization that receives profits from sales of t-shirts and shorts of the “Pride Month”: “I thought that in 2022 people were a little more open and not pieces of m**** – said the wrestler then – but I think I was wrong. Molina: “The fans of my sport are almost all homophobes”

Now, after coming out, Molina explains: “Most of the fans in this sport are homophobic assholes, so I thought I didn’t want to come out during my career. I wanted to be recognized for what I do as an athlete, a job to which I dedicated eleven years of my life, and not as ‘the bisexual fighter of the UFC’, which everyone would later translate as ‘the gay fighter of the UFC’ But I know my character, my morality, myself As hated and reviled as I may be, I also get support from the fans. And it means a lot to me.”

Molina and the betting case involving him

Molina is currently suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his alleged role in a betting ring involving his coach James Krause. Molina will not be able to fight until the government investigation into the case is completed.
