The leader in Arcore with the top management of Forza Italia and Lega. The agreement does not yet exist. The Northern League’s irritation for the method

A short summit, an hour and a half in all, organized yesterday afternoon taking advantage of the fact that the three leaders of the center-right, Giorgia Meloni, Matteo Salvini and Silvio Berlusconi, were simultaneously in Milan for family reasons. So, appointment in Arcore, the iconic residence of the Knight, to take stock and coordinate in view of the upcoming deadlines: the election of the presidents of the two Chambers, first of all, given that next Thursday, 13 October, voting will already begin in Senate, in the presence of the newly elected. And then, of course, there was talk of the possible formation of the next government led by Meloni.

The message of the president of the Brothers of Italy to the Northern League secretary and the founder of Forza Italia was clear. If and when you receive the task of forming a government from the head of state Sergio Mattarella, you want to be ready. The country’s urgencies are so pressing that no time can be wasted. So I just want a strong executive and not a low profile one. All yesterday, according to what was leaked by a joint note, they officially agreed on the need to have a strong government capable of responding to the country’s urgencies, starting with energy costs and important steps forward were made in this direction. Conclusion: the common will of the center-right to proceed as quickly as possible along the path of the formation of the executive.

In the coming days, between Tuesday and Wednesday, in Rome, the leaders will meet again: in fact, negotiations continue, but the agreement has not yet been found. At least on one point, they have all agreed for some time: to entrust the leaders of both branches of Parliament to members of the coalition. Around the fireplace in Arcore yesterday afternoon there were seven: Berlusconi was accompanied by his great friend (also invited to the birthday party) Alberto Barachini, president of the Rai Vigilanza. Matteo Salvini introduced himself together with his loyal Roberto Calderoli. Meloni was with Ignazio La Russa and Francesco Lollobrigida.

For its part, at the end of the meeting, the League he made it known that his government team was clear and ready, at the highest levels. And again: The priorities of Matteo Salvini’s party are the defense of salaries, pensions and the work of Italians, starting with a bill-stop decree which, given the European delays, can no longer be postponed. But discontent also filters through via Bellerio for the Draghi method adopted by Meloni in wanting to decide everything herself: who to be minister and in which department.

Silvio Berlusconi, on the other hand, left immediately after the summit Villa San Martino to attend the dedication to the memory of his father Luigi of the Monzello sports center. In front of the Monza players, the club of which he is the patron, the Cavaliere said: My father Luigi gave me all the money from his liquidation, allowing me to become an entrepreneur and politician. To prevent Italy from falling into the hands of the left. To the reporters, who had seen him come limping, he explained: I fell off a step and I did the whole election campaign as I could, but not as I wanted. Finally, he recalled the motto he imparted to the players: Whoever believes in it fights, whoever believes in it overcomes all obstacles, whoever believes in it wins. And it is not excluded that he also dispensed it an hour earlier to government allies. Moreover, already on the day of the vote Berlusconi had proclaimed himself director of the coalition and yesterday, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Pli in Milan, he reiterated it, recalling that he was the founder of the center-right in 1994 and specifying that the voters attributed Forza Italia has the task of leading the country, as a guarantor of liberal principles in government activity.
