Billions of damages due to bad weather
The damage caused by the flood in Emilia-Romagna has yet to be calculated, but it will certainly amount to several billion. Several banking groups have decided to allocate resources or provide concessions on mortgages and loans to meet households and businesses and respond as quickly as possible to the emergency situation. Confindustria Romagna thanked Abi and the adhering banks for the speed with which mortgages were suspended in the provinces of Bologna, Forl-Cesena and Ravenna from the beginning of May, as well as for the decision to extend this measure to Rimini as well. Furthermore, the entrepreneurs' association requests that all possible social shock absorbers be activated immediately for all those companies that will not be able to resume production activities, urgent measures be taken to suspend payments of taxes, levies and contributions and pending and the EU is requested to derogate from the aid scheme for businesses.
