After the cancellation of the Imola GP, Formula 1 restarts from Montecarlo, where Leclerc is at home. Free practice, qualifying, race: the programme

The F1 World Championship is back, after last weekend’s forced break, with the cancellation of the Imola GP caused by the floods that hit Emilia-Romagna. Now the Circus moves to the Principality of Monaco for the most glamorous event of the year, the Monaco GP. It takes place on the traditional street circuit on the streets of Montecarlo, 3,337 kilometers long (78 laps). So the world duel between the two Red Bulls starts again classification leader Max Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez. This is a special race for Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, born and raised in Monaco, who will be looking for his first victory on his home roads. The Monaco GP, 3 pm (6 pm delayed on Tv8), visible on Sky Sport F1Sky Sport Uno, Sky Sport 4K and streaming on Now TV.

Leclerc’s words

The track of Montecarlo in one word adrenaline. tight, bumpy and to go fast you have to trust your sensations. When you drive around in an F1 single-seater you don’t have a moment to breathe and when you push to the max, in qualifying, a real adrenaline rush pervades you – said Leclerc -. I don’t think any circuit transmits these sensations and I know it is the case for all riders, but for me in particular, given that the track is in the city where I grew up. And again, on the places of his heart: The whole city full of unique places: I love the beach of Larvotto. I owe my passion for motor racing to my father and to the fact that I was born and raised in Montecarlo: I was very young when from the balcony of a friend’s house, who lived in Santa Devote, I saw the cars whiz by and I simulated the same scenes with Formula 1 models. Then thanks to my father I met the legend of Ayrton Senna. Finally, the expectations on the race: We’ve had pole in the last two years, but I haven’t been able to do it on Sunday. Now the least competitive car of 2022, we’ll see how it goes, but I’ll always give my best.
