Euroleague, Olimpia Milano overwhelms Bayern Munich: the playoffs are closer

EA7 Milano takes another small step towards eighth place in the Euroleague. Ettore Messina's team dominates the match against Bayern Munich (99-74) and, thanks to the defeats of Baskonia and Zalgiris Kaunas, moves to just one victory from the last place to snatch a place in the playoffs with still four rounds to go dispute. There is no story in Andrea Trinchieri's match against the Bavarians.

At the Forum, the Germans score first, moving up to 0-2, but it is the only advantage of the evening granted by Olimpia, who in the first quarter keep Bayern to just 8 points scored while in the second quarter they even go up to +25 thanks above all to conclusions from the arc (12/19 to the end). In the second half Milan, led by the umpteenth high-level performance of Napier (20 points with 5/6 from three and 4 assists), checks the vain comeback attempts of the guests pushed by a 27-point Obst (7/11 from three) and in the final the gap with the opponents reopens again, closing on +25 and with 99 points scored, the best offensive performance of the season in the Euroleague. Among Messina's men, solid performance also for Luwawu-Cabarrot (14 points) while there were some flashes also from Shavon Shields, author of 9 points.
