After the government’s diktat to the Municipality of Milan on the suspension of the transcription on the children’s register of gay couples, a new right-wing offensive against rights. In the Senate, the European Policies Commission approved the majority resolution (11 votes in favor and 7 against of the opposition), presented by Fdi, on the proposal for an EU regulation on the recognition of children also of parents of the same sex, in view of a European certificate of filiation. The fourth commission, chaired by the exponent of Meloni’s party, Giulio Terzi of Sant’Agata, instead precluded the resolutions presented by Pd, M5S and Third Pole. The approved resolution is contrary to the EU indication.

The protest of the oppositions was very harsh. “The majority has now assumed the responsibility of seating Italy with Poland and Hungary,” he attacks Simon Malpezzi, dem group leader in the Senate. The resolution approved today, he says, “is an unprecedented attack on the rights of minors. The right, with an unacceptable forcing and agitating a false problem, votes against a regulation that helps children, putting the interest at the center, as we have reiterated several times of the minor”. And she concludes embittered: “Today the majority has decided to divide the children between Serie A and Serie B”.

The 5 Star Movement shares the same opinion. “The one that took place this afternoon in the EU political commission of Senate it was the emblem of the worst ideological theater typical of the right-wing repertoire” protest the pentastellati Dolores Bevilacqua And Peter Lorefice. “They continued to obsessively wave the flag of the danger of an opening of our system to surrogacy, when the EU regulation has nothing to do with this – they specify – but simply went to recognize children the same rights throughout the European territory. It is disheartening to see – they conclude – how this majority is able to exploit anything by passing on the living flesh of people, in this case even children. Italy is now like Poland and Hungary. Today is a bad day for democracy”.
