The winning work will be proclaimed on Monday 9 October at the Museo della Permanente in Milan. Twenty young talents were finalists, selected by the editorial staff of Arte

Giulia Cenci, Namsal Siedlecki, Fabrizio Cotognini, Serena Vestrucci, Paolo Bini: these are the winners of the last editions of the Cairo Award (edited by the monthly Arte directed by Michele Bonuomo), born in 2000 from the will of the president Urban Cairo to support young Italian artists and to introduce the public to new protagonists, new trends and new languages ​​present in contemporary art research.


The appointment now for Monday 9 October at the Museo della Permanente in Milan: on that occasion the winning work of the 22nd edition of the Cairo Prize will be proclaimed (the event can be followed in streaming on Corriere.it thanks to the partnership with Corriere della Sera). An award that is confirmed as the most authoritative opportunities for young artists in Italy and as a springboard able to offer artists the double opportunity to consolidate themselves in the national and international artistic panorama and to live a great experience.

Also for 2023 they are twenty young talents selected by the editorial staff of Arte and called to create unpublished works, evaluated by a technical jury. After the announcement of the winner, from 10 to 15 October, the exhibition (open free of charge) of the twenty works is scheduled, together with the entire Cairo Prize Collection which houses the works awarded in previous editions. Naturally, the winning work of 2023 will also become part of the Collection, while its author will be awarded a prize of 25,000 euros. The entire itinerary of the Cairo Prize 2023, with news and updates up to the announcement of the finalists and with the highlights of the opening night, will be available on the dedicated Instagram page (@prizecairo).
