In the past few hours there has been talk of an alleged veto by Minister Matteo Salvini on the appointment of Stefano Bonaccini as extraordinary commissioner for the reconstruction of the areas affected by the flood in Emilia Romagna. "I suppose he (Salvini ed) you think that whoever could have contributed to causing the problem will hardly solve it", says Claudio Borghi of the League.

"We have never been a movement that vetoes anyone - says the Northern League Massimiliano Romeo, who adds - It is a debate that the government will carry out in the times and in the ways it deems useful. We have the utmost respect for all the regional presidents at regardless of what the political colors are".

The Minister for Civil Protection Nello Musumeci takes care of removing any doubts and dampening the controversies: "It is not a topic on the agenda, you are making a mistake. We have just appointed the emergency commissioner (Bonaccini himself, ed): it is a theme that has not yet arisen for now, there is still water".

To clarify the position of the Carroccio, a note to journalists: "No veto or antipathy towards anyone: the League, at all levels, is committed to solving the problems and hopes that the appointment will take place as soon as possible".
