Piazza Affari together with the other European Stock Exchanges is swaying on parity in the first part of a session following yesterday's heavy slide. The Frankfurt stock exchange opened up 0.1%, not very sensitive to the gross domestic product figure for the first quarter, with Paris on the same level. Amsterdam was up by half a percentage point, while both London and Madrid were down by 0.3% (here the data in real time). Sore points instead from the macro data, with the German GDP which in the first quarter marks a decline of 0.3%: the second reading of the GDP of the United States is also expected today which should confirm the previous +1.1%.

Milan after a marginally positive start, in the first trades marks a filing of 0.1%, with Generali the best performing large-cap stock, up 1.2% after quarterly accounts. The company closed the first quarter with an operating result of 1.8 billion (+22%) and a profit of 1.22 billion (+49%). In an uncertain climate among operators, Poste Italiane rose by 0.5%, while Tim, waiting for news on the network and on the entry of a new member on the board of directors, dropped by 0.4%. Weak Iveco down by a percentage point. On the Milanese stock, St deflates after the good start and goes negative with -0.36%. In no particular order, the banks, with Mps still down (-1.17%) after yesterday's -7%, weak Bper Banca and Banco Bpm with drops of almost one percentage point, positive Unicredit (+0.36%), hold Intesa Sanpaolo and Mediobanca (-0.1%).

Currencies and energy

On the currency market, more purchases on the greenback with the euro which is worth 1.073 dollars (from 1.0755 on the eve)149.83 yen (from 149.63), while the dollar/yen is at 139.49 (138.1). Oil is recovering, after the rise on the eve of the drop higher than expected in American inventories: -0.38% to 78.18 dollars for Brent in July, -0.31% to 74.11 dollars for WTI in July. Gas in Amsterdam rose slightly (+0.4%) to 27.9 euros per MWh.
