On the macro front, it emerged yesterday that US GDP in the first quarter increased more than expected, leading to fears that at this point the Federal Reserve has room for further rate hikes. Then there remains the knot on the American public debt ceiling to untie: while the deadline of June 1 is approaching, an agreement has not yet been reached. During the day, data on personal income, consumer spending and PCE inflation for April are on the calendar in the USA.
